Local, full-service food vending

We are locally owned by people who live in San Diego, and one team handles everything after you say yes: placement, stocking, restocking, repairs, and refunds.

Every machine is cashless and remotely monitored, so restocking happens when sales say it is needed rather than on a fixed calendar. If something breaks, we get back to you within 24 hours to schedule service, and customers who have a problem with a purchase deal with us directly, not your front desk.

Why drinks lead here

In most markets a combination machine splits fairly evenly between snacks and drinks. San Diego skews harder toward drinks, and the gap does not close much in winter.

The climate is the obvious reason: mild and dry most of the year, with enough sun that hydration demand stays high in months when a colder market would see it drop away. The less obvious reason is how people move around the county. Long drives between sites, outdoor work, and campuses spread across several buildings all produce the same behaviour: people arrive somewhere wanting something cold, not something to eat.

So we give drinks more capacity than the standard split, and refrigeration is part of the base setup rather than an upgrade. A room-temperature drink machine underperforms badly in this climate.

Fresh food and San Diego distances

Fresh food needs throughput, because sandwiches and salads have to sell before they expire. San Diego adds a second constraint: the county is large and our routes cover a lot of ground, so restocks at an outlying site are realistically less frequent than at a central one.

That pushes the traffic needed for fresh food higher in North County and East County than in Kearny Mesa or Sorrento Valley. Where it does work, at large campuses, biotech sites with shift coverage, and busy medical buildings, it works well. Elsewhere we will tell you honestly that packaged items are the better fit.

Where food vending works in San Diego

San Diego runs on cars. Most people drive to work, park once, and stay put. Leaving a Sorrento Valley campus for a drink means moving your car, rejoining traffic, and giving up your parking spot, so most people simply do not. A machine on-site fills that gap.

Research campuses around Sorrento Valley, Torrey Pines, and UTC are a strong fit because shifts often run outside normal business hours, and we stock more substantial items for people working late. Kearny Mesa and Mission Valley are dense with mid-size offices, and North County runs from Carlsbad office parks to Oceanside apartment communities.

Installation across the county

Most of the county is low-rise. Office parks in Sorrento Valley, Carlsbad, and Kearny Mesa typically have ground-floor entrances, surface parking, and loading access that does not require booking anything, so a machine can often go in without a freight elevator reservation or a scheduled delivery window.

Downtown high-rises and larger campuses do have building requirements, and we handle that coordination directly with property management. Most San Diego locations go from first conversation to a stocked, working machine in about one to two weeks.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are you a local San Diego vending company?

Yes. Coastal Vending Company is locally owned by people who live in San Diego, and the same team that installs your machine stocks it, services it, and handles refunds. We get back to you within 24 hours to schedule any repair.

How much does a food and snack vending machine cost?

For qualifying San Diego locations there is no equipment cost and no monthly fee. Coastal Vending owns and services the machine and earns from product sales. The free location review determines whether a site qualifies.

Can we get fresh food rather than packaged snacks?

At sites with enough daily traffic, yes. Fresh items have short shelf lives, so they need throughput to sell through before expiring. Because our routes cover a large county, the traffic threshold is higher for outlying sites in North County and East County than for central ones. We will tell you honestly if your location is better suited to packaged items.

Why do you recommend more drink capacity than snacks?

San Diego skews harder toward drinks than most markets and stays that way year round rather than dropping off in winter. The climate, the driving distances, and outdoor work all push demand toward cold drinks, so we weight capacity accordingly instead of splitting a combination machine evenly.

Which parts of San Diego County do you serve?

Central San Diego including La Jolla, Sorrento Valley, Kearny Mesa, Mission Valley, Mira Mesa, Point Loma, and Coronado; North County including Carlsbad, Encinitas, Del Mar, Solana Beach, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Escondido, and Poway; and the South Bay and East County including Chula Vista, National City, La Mesa, and El Cajon.

How long does installation take?

Most San Diego locations go from first conversation to a stocked, working machine in about one to two weeks. Because much of the county is low-rise with ground-floor access, many sites need no freight elevator booking or scheduled delivery window at all.

How do we get started?

Request a free location review and tell us your location type, daily traffic, hours, and the space and power available. We recommend a format sized to the traffic, install and stock it, and adjust the mix from real sales data. There is no obligation after the review.

A small suite usually gets a compact snack machine, a gym gets refrigerated drinks, and a busy breakroom gets a combination unit. We will recommend the format that fits your space and traffic.
